Coventry Muslim kills White pensioner in unprovoked attack.

Jailed Coventry Muslim Zaman Omair.

A Coventry Muslim has been jailed for killing a pensioner in an unprovoked attack.
Omair Zaman, of Eld Road, Foleshill, assaulted 72-year-old Andrew Pratt as he was walking home from his local pub along Bright Street, Stoke, on May 28, 2015.
The 19-year-old walked up to the pensioner – punched him around the head and kicked him to the floor.
Andrew was taken to hospital and was treated for serious injuries but died in hospital on August 8.
Zaman was initially charged with murder but a plea of manslaughter was accepted and he was sentenced to three and a half years in prison at Leamington Justice Centre yesterday (Tuesday, December 15).
Detective Sergeant Michelle Kiedron, from CID, said: “Andrew was walking home from his local pub when Zaman punched and kicked him in an unprovoked attack.
“Neighbours came to Andrew’s aid and he was taken to hospital – he never left hospital again and died of his injuries a few months later.
“We accept the court’s decision and hope that the jailing of this dangerous man offers some comfort to Andrew’s family.”
